  1. Wow, this was my first year to do a field show, I was in color guard then.Hearing this after what, 36 years!
Thank you to those that made it available to us, Mike & the judge who’s name I forgot!

  2. Michael thank you so much for doing this! what an amazing journey down memory lane. Can’t wait for some video to surface.

  3. Can’t even begin to describe the emotions hearing this audio! Listened for the first time with my 15yr old son (trumpet player) who is the same age I was that summer, I think I went up a few notches on the cool factor. Only wish there had been film to view at the same time. Thanks Michael.

  4. Thanks for this. That early 80s standstill is 90% of 1978’s show. Instead of Step to the Rear, there’s Danse Macabre. The rest is identical. I guess toward the end, there just wasn’t the time or budget for much new material; but it’s great to hear the 1978 show played just as my memory recorded it!

  5. there is a video of the ’76 show somewhere. I think it was shot in Lexington, Ky. I showed it to our High School Marching Band to try and recruit some new members.

  6. i was in rcyb from 1980-81, bruce nelson was the drum major and i have wonderful memories. i’m sorry i missed the reunion some years ago. i didn’t know rcyb had been around for such a long time. i thought of john combs as such a great person, as the ‘god father’. i hope he is well – bert gonzalez
